SEA-SHANTY GEM

Imagine yourself sipping a tankard in the same place that Pirates and Smugglers once did the same over 750 years ago. The Turks Head is a revered listed building that holds an abundance of history to Penzance. As the first recorded taphouse on the town’s most historic street, the Turks Head dates back to the 1200’s.

Retaining as many original features as possible through the years, the Turks Head retains its intimate bar, quaint and cosy snugs and traditional low beamed ceilings. Even the underground tunnel which secretly gave pirates and smugglers (and their stolen contraband) a quick exit to Penzance Harbour can still be seen from the pub’s courtyard. With an abundance of rustic character, it’s clear to see the cherished history of centuries past.

COASTAL RETREAT

With the un-touched Cornish coastline on our doorstep, we are proud to have such a beautiful landscape, both rolling countryside and clear blue coastline, as our neighbour.
